GoldFynch will process and extract metadata from native emails in various formats, such as MSG, EML, and EMLX. Additionally, native emails can be uploaded in archive/bulk formats such as PST, OST, OLM, and MBOX. If you need to collect emails from your client's email accounts, we can also directly pull emails from various email providers through add-on services.
Metadata will not be extracted from loose PDF documents containing emails, however. In such situations, it is common practice for email renderings to be provided along with an accompanying load file or spreadsheet which contains the email metadata information. GoldFynch can load this information from the load file while importing the email PDFs from the production. Find out more about importing productions with load files here.
If you are not able to receive the documents in a load file production format, and you only have the PDFs, then the GoldFynch team may be able to create a customized script to look for text patterns specific to your files to identify TO / FROM / SUBJECT, etc. as a paid support request. To do so, make use of the Technical Support Request add-on service.
You can also quickly view the emails found in an MBOX file or a PST file without any processing by using GoldFynch's MBOX Viewer and PST Viewer
