Two-factor authentication on your Yahoo account requires a special code—either through a text message or through a mobile app—to accompany your username and password. This will prevent GoldFynch's software from connecting to your mailbox. To get around this, you can try using an "in-app" password that Yahoo can generate. This is a temporary password that will give our software access to your email inbox.

For email imports using add-on services, we will notify you once the process is complete and you can delete the application password, blocking further access to your Yahoo email.

Here are the steps to follow while creating an in-app password:

Step 1. Sign in to your Yahoo account.

Step 2. Click on the following link or copy-paste it directly into your browser. This will take you directly to your Yahoo account security page: https://login.yahoo.com/account/security.

Step 3. Click on the 'Generate app password' link (as seen in the figure below). If you are already using this Yahoo service, click on the link that says 'Manage app passwords'.

On the Account settings tab click on Generate app password                                                                        Yahoo account security options

Step 4. Click on the 'Get started' button.

Click on Get started

Step 5. Enter 'GoldFynch' as the name and click on the 'Generate password' button.

Enter 'GoldFynch' as the app and click on 'Generate password'

Step 6. The window will display an application password. This is the only time the application password will be displayed. Copy the entire password, then click on the 'Done' button, and return to Step 4 of Section 2 ("Authorize GoldFynch to import your emails") to submit a service request with the application password
