If you are working with a specific data collection vendor and needing to have the collected data directly uploaded to your GoldFynch case, you can follow the steps below:

1. Share the case with the third-party vendor contact. You should use the convenient built-in share case feature from your GoldFynch case. Remember to use the email address of the person from the third party vendor who will actually be uploading the collected data. Click here to see instructions on sharing your case.

2. A GoldFynch account will need to be set up using the same email address used to share the case. GoldFynch accounts are free but are required in order to access the GoldFynch case to view or upload data. Click here for helpful instructions on setting up a GoldFynch account.

3. Once the third-party contact has set up their account, once they log in, they will see the shared case in their case listing page (the main landing page of GoldFynch when they log in)

NOTE: Cases shared with third-party vendors are most typically meant to be on a temporary basis. Once all data is uploaded successfully, you can revoke their case access.

Adding files to GoldFynch

GoldFynch has an easy drag/drop method and as long as the collected source data is in a container / archive file, there should be no problems. Click here for more information on uploading data to your GoldFynch case.

Some general formatting suggestions are detailed below:

  • Email would be best uploaded in a near-native format that most closely represents the underlying mail system and available export formats, e.g., mbox / eml files for Gmail, PST / OST / OLM / MSG files for Outlook / Exchange accounts.
  • Mixed electronic files & documents from hard drives and cloud storage best uploaded as a container (e.g., zip, 7z) of native files, maintaining relevant folder hierarchy / structure.
  •  iPhone and Facebook Messenger collections, ideally relevant information pre-processed into a paged format
