Creating productions within Goldfynch can be done by using saved searches or tags. More information on creating and managing saved searches can be found here, and on creating productions from any (potentially unsaved) search here.

Note: It is important to remember that saved searches are executed in real-time, so when you originally create a saved search, you may see 100 documents that satisfy your search, but these document counts could change in the below scenarios:

  • If you add items to your case and the new items satisfy the current saved search query
  • If you modify the saved search and that modification includes or removes items from your previous saved search

So when you create your production, files will be included based on the current set of results that the saved search query returns.

Here's how to produce your files from a saved search in GoldFynch:

1. Go to the ‘Production’ view by clicking the 'Productions' icon in the left panel

2. Click on the 'Start Production Wizard' button under the 'Production Wizard' tab

Navigate to the Production view and click on Start Production Wizard

Step 1. Choose a name for the Production

1. Enter a name for the production

2. Click on the 'Next: Document Selection' button

Step 2. Select documents for the production

1. Select the saved searches or tags whose documents you want to include in your production. GoldFynch lists each available tag and saved search in the case

2. Click on the 'Next:Production Output' button

The number listed at the bottom of Step 2 of the production wizard will show how many documents will be included in the production at the time it is run.

Continue with the rest of the steps of production as detailed here. You can find more information on the types of productions you can run in GoldFynch here.

NOTE: If you create a production using a saved search and later attempt to create another one using the same parameters, but have since added new documents to your case which satisfy the saved search query, you will likely have a difference in the displayed number of files ("X items selected"), as the new files will be included in the new production set.
