If you upload any compressed files to GoldFynch (like ZIP or PST files,) the files they contain will be automatically unzipped/extracted to your GoldFynch case. Once the processing is complete, you may want to delete the original "container" files that continue to take up space in your case in addition to the volume of the extracted files. To do so, follow the steps below.

NOTE:

  • Once you reclaim your case's space, the deletion of the container files from your case will be permanent. Be sure that you have a local copy of these files before permanently deleting them from your case.

Step 1. Log in to the GoldFynch case. The current case's size, case plan, reclaimable case space, and other information about it are displayed on this page (the "Overview" page.)

Step 2. Click on the "Reclaim..." button.

Click on the Reclaim button

Step 3. Check the checkboxes of the types of files that you want to delete.

Step 4. Click on the "Cleanup" button. The button will display the total number of items that will be deleted and the case volume that will be freed up.

Check the tickboxes and click "Cleanup"

(Optional). Visit the case overview page to check if a case plan downgrade is possible. Click on the "Overview" button on the left menu and select "change plan" to check if any of the lower plans are available. If available due to the reduced volume, you will be able to select one of them and the billing will shift to the lower plan on a prorated basis.

NOTE: Once deleted, files and folders (and all files within folders) are permanently removed from your case. All information stored by GoldFynch that is assigned to the deleted items (e.g. tags, tag notes, custodians and sources, etc.) is removed along with them.
